I have learned many things from Mark and my skills on the violin have increased. He also has flexible schedules.
Response from the owner:Thank you for your review! We look forward to being a continued part of your musical journey on the violin. We love that you are having such a positive experience at DEA Music & Art.
My kids absolutely love their music lessons. My daughter takes singing lessons with Sherma, who is incredibly talented and kind. My son takes guitar lessons and is loving them, he has learned SO much and just started last spring. I highly highly recommend this music school, it is a gem and we are really glad we found it.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much Bailey for this beautiful review. Teaching your daughter voice, has been such a joy, and we are so happy to hear how much your son is enjoying his guitar lessons. Helping students grow in confidence and skill while discovering their love for music and exactly what we strive for at DEA Music & Art. We look forward to their continued success.
My son started piano last June and we’ve been amazed at his progress! Mr. Adamy has adapted lessons to fit my son’s personal learning pace and keeps the learning engaging through a variety of exercises, including duets. He has encouraged my son’s own areas of interests and helps keep him self-motivated and practicing between sessions. A great experience !
Response from the owner:Laura,
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with your son. It is a joy to be a part of his continued musical growth as a pianist. We look forward to our continued work together!
We started my daughter at DEA about a year and a half ago, continuing her violin journey. In that time, she's completed 2 books in the Suzuki method, learned so much technique, entered her first competition, and genuinely enjoys her instrument...and all of that is largely due to Gvantsa's masterful teaching! She has such an uplifting personality, always positive (even when about to give a correction), and she's so wildly skilled at her craft. The rest of the team is wonderful too, making you feel like family from the second you enter the foyer. We don't take lessons with Mr. Phil, but hearing his interactions with his young students and talking with him before our weekly lessons, I can tell his students are equally fortunate to have him as a piano and voice teacher. Everyone is so personable, I highly recommend the studio to anyone looking for strong, skilled music teachers who understand children AND music in an advanced way.
Response from the owner:Marissa, Thank you for your gracious and thoughtful review! We look forward to being a continued part of your daughter's musical journey on the violin. It means a lot to us to know that you are having such a positive experience at DEA Music & Art.
The staff has been friendly to work with. Learning at the School has had a number of benefits. The teachers provide structure for your learning, which I did not have when trying to teach myself an instrument. They will also help you tailor your learning to meet your particular goals. They'll recommend music books to work through and come alongside you as you go through each lesson. The instructors, there, are also good at pushing you past your comfort zone, especially when it comes to live performance.
Response from the owner:Robert,
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful review. We appreciate the time, effort and energy you bring to your piano studies! Your dedication and musical growth is a reminder of why we do what we do. Thank you for being a part of the DEA family:)
We are thrilled with our experience so far at DEA. I am very impressed with the owners and staff. My son has had a few lessons with Mason and has fallen in love with the guitar! Mason is teaching him fundamentals, while still keeping it cool for my (8 yr old) son by teaching him riffs from his favorite band, and even some power chords!
Sherma (an owner) is absolutely lovely. She is warm, and inviting and the children are obviously at ease around her. Her speaking voice is so melodic, and smooth. I can only imagine what she sounds like when she sings!
Mark (another of the owners) is obviously very knowledgeable, and the few lessons my friend's son have taken with him have been great.
Very excited to check out there summer camp offerings. Feeling very lucky to have such a high caliber school right around the corner!
Response from the owner:Megan,
Thank you so much for such a kind, thoughtful, and detailed review! We're so glad your son is enjoying his guitar lessons. We're proud to have such dedicated instructors who care deeply about their students' creative growth, while also experiencing the joy of the learning process. Welcome to the DEA Music & Art family!
This place is great! My son, who is seven years old started piano lessons just over two months ago. He has made some great strides and really loves taking lessons with Mr. Mark. It’s actually hard to believe it’s only been two months since he seems to be flying through the books. I will say I do have him practice every day for about 20 minutes and that is making all the difference with his progress.

When I first learned of DEA, I loved that it was super conveniently located in Morristown. I had heard of them from a friend who had a great experience, where their daughter was given the option to try lots of different instruments before picking what she would like to pursue playing. We decided on piano and couldn’t be happier. Sherma, who is probably the one you will talk to first, is so nice and sweet and very helpful. She also does voice lessons and we are hoping to sign my son up for that as well in the near future. If I could, I would sign him up for all the lessons, because the caliber of teaching is very high quality. They also really want to get involved with the community, and I think building connections and supporting one another is incredibly important now. I definitely recommend checking them out!
Response from the owner:Victoria,
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review! We are thrilled to hear how much progress your son has made in such a short time. His dedication, along with your commitment to daily practice, truly makes all the difference.

Mr. Mark will be so happy to hear how much he enjoys his piano lessons. We’re also grateful for your lovely words about our team and our connection to the community. Thank you for your trust, your recommendation, and for being part of the DEA family—we look forward to continuing this musical journey with you!
My experience here has been an amazing experience. I am learning more about myself with music than I knew Yes The people are nice and friendly, and the teacher is amazing.
Response from the owner:Jacinta, it is wonderful having you as a vocal/voice student! You've grown so much, and we look forward to your continued musical success. We are happy to have you be a part of the DEA family.
